Revelator Coffee Roasters is a southern chain of cafiniated joints serving rotating coffees drinks and espressos. If you're into aesthetics, the concrete bar and white brick walls will keep you running back every time you touch down in NOLA, and if that doesn't do it, their delicious concoctions definitely will.

The events of a revelation have led us to where we are today. The notion that the citizens of the south were not made available to the same caffeinated luxuries that residents in the Pacific Northwest, New York, California and parts of Texas were able to enjoy is ludicrous. It is a tragedy that such misfortune could go unrectified, that this unfair coffee calamity could exist as long as it did. While we stand questioning why, we can’t help but notice that a new dawn has broken — and a new coffee heavyweight has quickly emerged.

Post up at their sleek concrete bar and let a cold brew melt away any cobwebs left lingering from the previous night’s exploits.

Revelator Coffee Company found a gap in the South’s market. While good shops are out there, they aren’t always easy to come by. Other markets like Portland and California have been spoiled by a multitude of Blue Bottles, Stumptowns, and Intelligentsias. These shops have exploded on the west coast, making it easier for coffee lovers to obtain their brown magic. Revelator has taken that recipe and applied it to the southern states. They now have 14 locations scattered around the Southeast, including but not limited to Alabama, Charleston (SC), Tennessee, Atlanta, and New Orleans. Let’s just say that they’re spreading faster than beads during an intoxicated week of Mardi Gas.

Printed in black letters over the French doors that lead to your day’s beginning is the store’s logo, a radiant eye. Is this a symbolic vision for a more energetic future? Or a glimpse into the eye of a caffeinated storm? Either way, you can rejoice in the knowledge that good coffee is near.

Inside, you’ll find a clean, minimalist approach. If it weren’t for the espresso machine and coffee bags, you might confuse their space for a gallery, as the shop couldn’t be simpler and more beautifully organized.  Post up at their sleek concrete bar and let a cold brew melt away any cobwebs left lingering from the previous night’s exploits.

While this venture has not proclaimed the book of Apocalypse, it has given us a revelation. It has broken the cycle on how the people of the south spend their mornings, it has seen the future of the southern caffeinated state. And they have revealed unto us…a kickass cup of coffee, a steaming hot espresso, and a fast start to an always-entertaining New Orleans celebration.
