Coffee & Tea Collective

time Everyday: 7am - 6pm

Coffee & Tea Collective started roasting in 2012. Since then, they have been a pioneer in the third wave coffee game, slanging their delicious roast to the movers and shakers of SoCal. With two shops in San Diego, they have become a choice spot to fuel up with caffeine before galavanting through any day of the week.

Collective thought is a powerful tool. It unites, creates, and invents. We can all agree that an even flow of collective consciousness is superior when caffeinated. In the East Village, there is a following of like-minded devotees of craft coffee and tea that are dedicated to different brew methods. They gather inside Coffee & Tea Collective, where steamed, dripped, poured, and steeped creations are given out to keep the people of San Diego energized. And judging by the massive mural of Christian Bale’s crazy screaming face, they are psychos for their craft.

We advocate taking a moment to sit in the welcoming space and engage in some collective thought, think of your next big idea, or an upcoming future voyage.

The inside is an industrial science lab dedicated to grinds and tea leaves. Even the lighting looks scientific, as bulbs are strung together with steel mimicking the look of an atom. The audacious “&” symbol, also known as an ampersand, is the mark of pride for this small-batch roastery. This new-world hieroglyphic can be seen stamped on mugs, painted within unique wall art, and lit up in florescent light.

The main mission here is to produce consistent quality in offerings that you can sit and enjoy or take with you on the day’s pursuit. If the afternoon is for surfing waves or cruising streets, Collective keeps you hydrated and fueled up. We advocate taking a moment to sit in the welcoming space and engage in some collective thought, think of your next big idea, or an upcoming future voyage. Also, look closely to notice the words at the bottom of your mug revealed when you polish off your drink, a message exclaiming “Well Done.” It’s clear we feel the same way about Coffee & Tea Collective, a job well done.
