Say your prayers before you walk into Whitechapel, because a lifetime of Hail Marys won’t save you from that intoxicating aroma of nearly 400 different gins floating in the air. Inspired by the abandoned underground train stations of London, the owners of Whitechapel used photos from the 1890s to create a vintage train stop with an endless amount of concoctions.

Featuring the largest gin selection in North America, Whitechapel offers 370 different types of gin and over 100 handmade cocktails.

Located in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco, Whitechapel offers three rooms, each with its own specific attraction: The Victorian Gin Palace, which is the dinning area modeled after the gin pubs of the late 1800s; the distillery; and The Platform, which is the main bar area and is designed with barrel-vaulted ceilings and a long copper bar.

Featuring the largest gin selection in North America, Whitechapel offers 370 different types of gin and over 100 handmade cocktails. One of our personal favorites is the “Penny Dreadful” – Sloane’s gin, Citaddelle reserve gin, amer bigallet, antica vermouth, hellfire bitters, and smoked islay peat to really give it a twist. For the adventurous type “Follow the Black Rabbit” – Beefeater dry gin, fernet branca, orange, and maple syrup to help ease you down the rabbit hole. If you are in the mood for trying a variety, we dare you to ask about the flights. With four different half-ounce gins, its safe to say your train ticket just got punched.

If the night gets the best of you, listen carefully for that “last call” bell – it’ll notify you that it’s time for one more drink before your final destination. So “All aboard” and hold on tight, for this chapel worships the juniper berry, every holy night.
